Advancing Justice Education Through Global Collaboration
Legal education can play a vital role in promoting access to justice, protecting human rights, and preparing future lawyers to respond responsibly to the needs of their communities. Clinical legal education, in particular, connects academic learning with real-world challenges and gives students opportunities to develop both professional skills and a deeper commitment to justice.
The Global Alliance for Justice Education (GAJE) brings together legal educators, clinical teachers, lawyers, students, researchers, civil society organizations, and justice advocates from around the world to exchange experiences and develop innovative and socially relevant approaches to legal education.
GAJE has opened the call for proposals for its 13th World-Wide Conference, to be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from July 13 to 17, 2027. The conference will be preceded by GAJE’s Training of Trainers (ToT) Program on July 11–12, 2027, providing an additional opportunity for educators to strengthen teaching methods, share practical experience, and learn collaboratively with colleagues from different countries and legal systems.
The organizers particularly encourage interactive and collaborative proposals, including sessions developed jointly by colleagues who share common research, teaching, or professional interests. The deadline for submitting proposals is December 1, 2026. Those who may require a visa to enter Argentina are encouraged to submit their proposals as early as possible.
GAJE also provides a flexible registration-fee structure and a limited number of grants to assist some participants with travel and accommodation costs. Applications for these grants are expected to be accepted from January 1 through March 15, 2027.
Roya Institute for Global Justice encourages legal educators, clinical teachers, lawyers, students, researchers, human-rights defenders, and civil-society practitioners—particularly those interested in justice education, academic freedom, migration, human rights, and community engagement—to consider participating and contributing to this important global gathering.
