This engaging and transformative event will be led by Dr. Mizanur Rahman, a distinguished law professor, director of the Bangladesh Institute of Law and International Affairs (BILIA), former chairman of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Bangladesh, a dynamic legal advocate, and a valued member of Roya Institute’s advisory board.

Empowerment through Law of the Common People (ELCOP) is going to organize its 22nd Human Rights Summer School (HRSS) from 17-28 October 2023 at Proshika HRDC, Koitta, Manikganj, Bangladesh.
ELCOP is a voluntary, non-profitable, non-political, non-governmental human rights education, research, and training organization dedicated to the common people of Bangladesh.
HRSS is a two-week long residential training on human rights which is comprised of class lectures, small group exercises, simulation, community visits, moot court competitions, and many more. The theme for this year’s summer school is “Human Rights & Human Security”. Previously, distinguished scholars from Australia, India, Nepal, South Africa, Iran, and host Bangladesh were the resource persons in the program.
Every year, the HRSS selection committee selects 42 final-year undergraduate law/ LLM students from Bangladesh and abroad. Interested students are welcome to apply with the necessary documents.
Registration Fee: BDT 500 (Not applicable for foreign participants)
Participation Fee: USD 100.00 (For Foreign Participants)
BDT 10,000 (For Bangladeshi Participants)
NB: Participation fees are payable upon selection.
