This day is marked as International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction with a vision to promote risk awareness and disaster reduction culture. This day celebrates how people all across the globe are coming together to reduce the risk of disasters and also raising awareness.

The international day of the girl child is celebrated worldwide to further this goal and bridge the gap in learning and equitable access to resources for young girls so that they can realize their potential.
